175th Anniversary Celebrations

2016 will see not only the long awaited completion of our newly modernised station area but is also the 175th Anniversary of the arrival of the railway into Haywards Heath.

To mark these events a celebration weekend is planned for 17th & 18th September 2016 with a huge number of events taking place at various locations in the town.

The weekend of historical celebration will bring together our community including clubs, societies, schools, businesses and the people of Haywards Heath.

The partners and supporters of this event include Network Rail, Southern Rail, HHTC, MSDC and WSCC. As you can see there is already wide and enthusiastic support for this event.

A Victorian theme is planned for the weekend and it is hoped that all those involved will turn out in Victorian costumes.

Amongst our planned activities there will be a Grand Procession, a Steam Engine, together with Bluebell Stepney, a Victorian Fun Fair, railway exhibitions, train rides, a big film screen, live battles, art displays, competitions, stalls and a horse and carriage.
